ABOUT US
The PL Declaration
“Life is art.
Human beings realise life’s true beauty, charm and meaning only when they live an artistic life.
Then, what is an artistic life?
It is to freely express our own individuality in all our life’s pursuits. Our true individuality however, cannot be expressed to the highest degree unless we are completely free of egoistic interest and selfish gains. We must learn to live with an objective state of mind, expressing our individuality in the interest and welfare of all humankind.
We PL members, hereby declare that we will live an artistic life, detaching ourselves from egocentricity and expressing our individuality in complete freedom and spontaneity. We PL members also declare that it is our duty to propagate and nourish the teachings of PL throughout the world and that we shall always make a positive contribution to the global community.”

What Is PL
We are an independent group owned and operated by its Australian members and we teach and practise the teachings of the Perfect Liberty Kyodan from Japan.
Perfect Liberty (PL) guides us into the 21st century with an enlightened new positive philosophy and spiritual awareness of life that s free of dogma.
We provide guidance and very effective prayers to help people along the rough patches on the road of life.
We are an informal open-minded group that anyone can join and our members care for others and help each other along with the ministers’ assistance.
For those who have sickness, misfortune, problems with children, or other difficulties, our approaches have proven to be very effective and are recognized internationally.
PL, which originated from within the Buddhist and Shinto culture of Japan early in the 20th Century, provides individual assistance in helping people improve the quality of their life, no matter what their circumstances may be.
The PL Teachings
The teachings are based on the sacred PL 21 Precepts that were received by Reverend Tokuchika Miki from God during the evening of September 29, 1947, in Hiroshima. This was only 2 years after the atomic bomb was dropped on the city.
These teachings are based on the understanding that all is for world peace. In other words, God has given us everything we need for world peace, but it’s up to us to make it happen. This is expressed in Precept 14, “World Peace Is Everything.”
The Powerful Oyashikiri Prayer
The Oyashikiri Prayer was revealed by God on May 29, 1958, after our spiritual leader, Tokuchika Miki had been praying for some time to receive the most direct way to quickly reach Him in order to help people who are suffering.
Since then countless PL members around the world have received numerous amazing blessings. The Oyashikiri Prayer is likely the world’s most powerful and effective prayer. It has helped many hundreds of thousands of people recover from serious and terminal illnesses including AIDS and various cancers.
Numerous people have also recovered well from serious accidents and misfortunes, while countless parents have had their children recover from what would otherwise have been fatal diseases.

What PL Teaches
In the Church of Perfect Liberty (also known as PL) you will learn that:
“You are the artist! You are the master craftsman, shaping your own existence from the cradle to the grave. You wield the tools, dream the dreams, see the visions, draw the plans, take the time and do the work in everything you say and think every moment of the day. As a sculptor takes his raw materials and begins to realise his ideal, as a painter takes his brush and gives form to his creative idea, so in your whole life you are the artist.”
Reverend Tokuchika Miki, the spiritual leader of PL, revealed the true meaning of human life in the first Precept, “Life Is Art”. Like the artist, when we sincerely express our “self” in everything we do, our full human potential can be realised and it is uniquely our own. This potential is the power of the “true self” that we all have that includes all human capabilities, such as, the power to understand and appreciate things, the power to create and plan, the power to judge and decide, and the power to carry things out.
As all your expressions more and more reflect the “true you” your life will be enriched, your spirit will be awakened and you will open up new frontiers in your life.
Present day people are inclined to emphasise only the outcome or results of things, to interpret happiness only in terms of material satisfaction. The first two PL Precepts, Life Is Art and To Live Is To Express One’s Self, are the most powerful principles of life, clearly pointing out the true nature of humankind. The understanding of these revelations can lead each person to a higher and happier existence.
When these PL Precepts reach millions of people the world over and when they follow and practise them in their daily lives, the dream of true world peace can then become a reality.
The purpose of PL is to share with you the divine principles that were revealed to Reverend Tokuchika Miki in 1947, and to guide you to live a fulfilled “artistic life” for your own happiness, the happiness of your family and the happiness of society.
The Beginning of PL
When Reverend Tokuchika Miki was released from prison in Tokyo at the end of World War II by General Douglas MacArthur, after his unjust confinement by the Japanese military authorities, the ministers of Hito-no-michi Kyodan (the predecessor of PL) gathered to celebrate. It was November 3, 1945, and on that occasion, Reverend Tokuchika Miki decided to start a movement first called PLC (Permanent Liberty Club) as an ideological group and at that time he presented “The PL Declaration” and “The PL Youth Creed.”
The PL Youth Creed
- I live for the joy of an artistic life.
- I pray for the happiness of others.
- I live with true effort and sincerity.
- I maintain the highest dignity and honour.
- I strive for world peace.
